This is a disk recovery program.
Partition Doctor helps recover from disk errors. Undeleting erased files is just the beginning of its features list. Repairing drives taking complications of partitions into consideration, is included in the feature list. Repairing broken partitions, corrupt disks, formatted disks and memory cards are part of the functionalities offered. Dead disks that are still recognized by the operating systems can be recovered by this tool. Even totally unstructured data is no problem for the tool. RAID systems, SSD devices and formatted disk devices (including USB Flash and other such memory devices) can be handled taking into account their hardware peculiarities. All RAID configurations are supported. When a disk is repartitioned, it destroys the partition structure and hence all the data becomes inaccessible. This tool claims to be able to recover such data too. This tool is able to work with NTFS scheme in 1.2 version and FAT partition schemes VFAT, FAT12, FAT16 and FAT 32.
The partition doctor works with HFS disks as well as EXT file systems. The utility uses proprietary techniques to read unstructured data after a file extension have been determined. A very large range of file types could be recreated. Besides the file types commonly encountered, 3D Studio Max, CAD/CAM types are also easily handled. Finding a deleted file and then un-erasing it is the backbone of the processes used. Preview of restored files help determine if the process is working correctly. Disk images functionality helps make an exact copy of the dying disk and then recover data. Whole range of devices and interfaces are supported. Data could be exported if local storage is not enough. The application will help make copies in CD/DVD, FTP or use a virtual disk. This is a very good tool.
